The actual benefits

Prenatal

Yoga helps everything from your breathing to your hips, digestion and energy. Gentle movements ease everyday aches and stiffness, create more space through the chest and ribs as your belly grows, maintain hip mobility and uses breathwork to support relaxation and body awareness.

Mat Pilates helps you maintain awareness of your deep core and pelvic floor, while keeping your body mobile and connected as your pregnancy progresses. Your core doesn't stop working during pregnancy, it works differently, and understanding how to work with it helps build a stronger body.

Reformer helps maintain strength and stability. As your centre of gravity shifts, your back, hips and pelvis adapt to carrying more weight, reformer movements help these areas areas while improving posture, balance and control.

Postnatal

Yoga helps your body gently recover from the physical demands of pregnancy, birth and caring for a baby. It can release tension through the neck, shoulders, chest, hips and back, improve mobility and posture, and use breathwork to help you slow down, reconnect with your body and create a little space for yourself.

Mat Pilates helps you reconnect with your deep core and pelvic floor after pregnancy and birth. It teaches you how these muscles work together again, while rebuilding control, stability and body awareness. Starting with these foundations gives you a stronger base before progressing into more demanding movement.

Reformer helps you gradually rebuild strength and stability after birth. The resistance gives you a controlled way to strengthen your core, hips, legs and whole body, while improving balance, posture and confidence as you return to movement.

FAQ’s

When can I start prenatal and postnatal Pilates or Yoga?

Pre: You can incorporate movement throughout pregnancy, and you don't need to have a Pilates or yoga background to begin. Our prenatal classes are designed to evolve with your body as your pregnancy progresses, with exercises, positioning and intensity adapted along the way.

Post: Your return to movement can be gradual. Gentle activity such as walking and pelvic-floor exercises can often begin early after birth, while returning to structured Pilates should build progressively as your body recovers. Low-impact Pilates or yoga becomes part of their return to exercise around the 6-week stage, while recovery after a C-section can take longer.

Can I join if I've never done Pilates or Yoga before?

Absolutely. Our prenatal and postnatal classes welcome beginners. Your teacher will guide you through the movements and offer modifications throughout the session, so you can work at a level that feels right for you. You don't need to be flexible, strong or experienced to begin.

What if I'm experiencing pelvic floor weakness or diastasis recti?

During pregnancy, Pilates and Yoga can help you maintain strength, mobility and body awareness as your body changes, while pelvic-floor and deep-core work can help support the muscles that experience increased demand during pregnancy and birth.

After birth, movement can help you gradually reconnect with your core and pelvic floor, rebuild strength and stability, improve mobility and posture, and regain confidence in your body as you return to the activities you enjoy.

Every pregnancy and postpartum journey is different. We encourage you to check in with your doctor or healthcare provider before starting or returning to exercise, so you can feel confident in what’s right for you.
